This morning (14/5/06) I managed a short drive through Richmond (not
really for proper birding but I did have my binoculars with me) which is
approx. 55km west of Sydney CBD. During that time I enjoyed a very good
view of a juv. Spotted Harrier flying very low and landing beside
Cornwallis Rd in Richmond only a few metres next to my car (I also had a
full grown adult bird not far from this road a few months ago) and this
is the time of the year to see these beautiful raptors in the
Hawkesbury. I also had a very good look at a Brown Falcon flying low
over my car on a minute or so before I saw the Harrier.
