Gooday Alan and birding-aussers

Pizzey Pg 91 gives the range of the race purpureicollis

"occupies n. part of range on n. C. York Pen. s. to about Mitchell R on w. coast and to near Cooktown in e."

HANZAB Vol 2 pg 342 states
" Qld. Throughout C York Pen. (including a few Torees Strait Islands.) N of Nassua R. in W and S through coastal and subcoastal regions to SE. Inland to Chillagoe in N and Glenmorgan in S."

I have observed race purpureicollis at Iron Range and Lockerbie Scrub and Prince of Wales Is. The pictures depicted on the HBW website Internet Bird Collection http://ibc.hbw.com/ibc/index.html are of the nominate race lathami but have been labled purpureicollis?

Thanks to those who have responded so far for your assistance.
Jon Wren
