David & any other interested persons.
Kumul Lodge is a safe place - with some very good birds, Pacific Adventist
University near Port Moresby is also safe and has good birds. Tours are now
run by Eric Katovai while I am away appear to be
power and e-mail problems around Port Moresby at the moment so do not expect to
get through in a hurry]
I have Bird Checklists (fully referenced & annotated) for 400 Melanesian
islands at birdsofmelanesia.net I have some updates and 40 new islands to
place when I get time and the wherewithall to upload them.
Dalom Lodge 130 km E of Kavieng in New Ireland is also a safe place to stay and
very near the road up to Lelet Plateau where there are lots of birds that are
uncommon elsewhere.
Happy birding
