Lake Murphy Mystery Wader

Chris Coleborn and David Parker recently described a strange wader they observed at Lake Murphy in northern Victoria. Chris sent me some photos that were taken without specialised equipment or huge lenses - I must say I was surprised at how much detail showed on the bird.

I've put the images online on the Birding-Aus website. Go to

http://www.birding-aus.org

then click "Rarities" - there's a link to a page of images, plus the description, at the bottom of the page of Birdline links.

One thing I noticed when I was adding these images is that the birding-aus site is very out of date, so if you've changed your website and I have an outdated link, please send me the new one. I've found a few for myself, but I'm sure there are a number of new sites I could add to the links section. Please forgive me for taking so long to upgrade the links some of you have already sent - but I did fix a few today, and will try to do the rest over Easter.

Happy birding

Russell
