DUCK SHOOTING PART 2

Further to my last e-mail...

Victorian duck shooters can go affter pink-eared duck, shoveller,
pacific black duck, wood duck, mountain duck, chestnut teal and grey
teal. Blue-billed duck and freckled are not to be shot. There are about
10 to 20,000 shooters expected to take part in the season that begins
tomorrow, though there are about 200,000 registered firearms owners in
Victoria. Most of the duck shooters are heading to Murphys Lake, where
there is a dense concentration of waterbirds (everything from brolga to
freckled duck) - circa 10,000 waterbirds - due to drought conditions. At
a time when ducks are suffering due to water shortage and therefore
forced to congregate in areas of abundant water, it's very sad Mr.
Bracks has increased the bag limit (7 ducks per day) for each shooter.
