Just a comment on Lawrie's note about Otway (sw Victoria) and alpine area Olive-backed Orioles. His comment regarding the quotes from the old (1987) Atlas of Victorian Birds is correct but current Atlas of Victorian Wildlife data certainly supports recent observations of the species being recorded from the Otways and over a large part of the alpine area as well. If observers come across species apparently out of range or in unusual habitat then be sure to submit your records to the Atlas of Victorian Wildlife. I'm happy to advise people on how to do this. cheers, Martin Martin O'Brien
