Needletails continue to appear on the Blackall Range. Approx. 150 seen yesterday from car over a 7km stretch of road from 2km S of Montville,  through Montville, and onto Flaxton. This road traverses the eastern edge of the range (overlooking the Sunshine Coast) and also can produce good raptor sightings, though none seen yesterday. Birds were observed from 0620 to 0630, in small flocks of no more than 30, with min. distance between flocks of 500 metres, and max. distance of 2km. Some single birds seen. All were relatively low (about 50-100m above road).
