Dear Mike and all

About 20-25 needletails at the top of Hannam Vale, Waitui Road - north of Taree, NSW - 31 41 120 : 152 32 48 - yesterday 8th February.
Also a Little Eagle flew over.

Had a pleasant day driving around Crowdy Head National Park and Harrington, but in far from ideal birding conditions - too much wind. No wonderfully exciting sights but did enjoy watching a flock of Yellow-tailed Black Cockatoos with youngsters feeding in radiata pine and flowering banksias, Dusky Woodswallows hawking, Brown Quail on the roadside and hundreds of White-cheekd Honeyeaters in the flowering banksias. Also a few Christmas Bells in flower.

The beaches were far too windy but we could see lots of Wedge-tailed Shearwaters close to shore off Crowdy Head, and an immature White-bellied Sea-eagle over Harrington town.

And the Fish of the day with chips was excellent at the Harrington pub.
