G'Day!
It looks as if in June of this year, I will have the opportunity to travel
(with some birding-tolerant colleagues) across the deserts from Newman to
Laverton to Warburton to Uluru. I have tried some Google searches, but I
have not found much about birding sites or special birds to watch out for
along that route, except for a few short site lists on the Eremaea Birds
site. I realize that much of the route is through Aboriginal lands and
side trips will be impossible, but I'm sure there will be some special
birding opportunities. I have birded in Australia four times before,
including the Pilbara and around Uluru and Alice Springs, but I'm still
missing some of the common western desert bird species and plenty of the
rare ones! Thanks in advance for any trip notes or site bird lists that
may help me take full birding advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
