I've recently made available an improved version of the archives at:
http://bioacoustics.cse.unsw.edu.au/birding-aus/
The old archive used a non-standard webserver port which caused
problems with firewalls. The new archive uses the standard port.
E-mail addresses were only thinly disguised in the old archive they
are now better disguised from address harvesters. The search engine
is more sophisticated and seems to provide workable access to the 50000
archived messages. I've put a redirection at the old archive URL.
A caveat - the archive lives on an obsolete workstation in a corner
of my office and is maintained in my meagre spare-time. Don't expect
100% uptime. Definitely report problems but don't be surprised if my
response is slow.
There are various apparent problems - ocassional missing messages bodies,
messy search results, poor formatting, ineffective spam filtering -
that I hope to get to in the next few weeks.
