How interesting - I think it is reasonable to assume from the references to Flooded Gums, Noisy Miners and Pied Currawongs that you are in Australia, though where might need the assistance of tree and bird field guides.
Did this happen today, last week or ten years ago?
This note might be more useful some temporal and geographic references had been included.

An immature Channel-billed cuckoo was calling (single note repeated) about mid day from some Flooded Gums at the back fence, causing the Noisy Miners & Pied Currawongs
to create quite a fuss.
This bird could have been the off- spring of the pair of C-B's
who spent the morning of the 6thNovember, annoying the Pied Currawongs who were trying to nest .
The young C-B finally flew off heading North.
