hi all
early this morning we saw a large flock of magpie geese (100ish) by the warrego
highway at lawes opposite the uni of qld gatton campus about 60km west of
brisbane.
20-odd were in the air flying in formation over the highway. the rest were
easily spotted in a newly ploughed field among the red sorghum.

the osprey i spotted on the brisbane river appears to have taken up permanent
residence in the tree on kingsford smith drive, hamilton, near the junction of
crescent rd.

i saw it roosting on the same limb over the water on sunday night and dining
happily on a fish there the next day.
