I visited in Fraser's Hill in '96 and the situation was as follows then, but
someone may have more up-to-date information.
I stayed at the Gap Rest House. There was a bus from KL via
Kuala Kubu Bahru. From the Gap the best birding is along the (old) road to
the summit. On the left-hand side you look straight into the canopy. I
believe there is now a new road to the summit too which may have disturbed
the forest.
