Hi all,

Made a trip up to Cheetham salt ponds, St Kilda, SA today (18/1) to look for
2 target birds, Red-necked Phalarope and Broad-billed Sandpiper but was only
successful with seeing the former species. Found the bird at 1015am and 5
mins later it was off over the mangroves to feed. For those interested in
seeing the bird high tide was at ~720am so it stayed around for about 3 hrs
after this time.

I searched through many RN Stints and Red-capped Plovers just inside the
entrance gate but didn't see a Broad-billed Sandpiper where it was reported
last Sunday. One large bunch of Stints took off towards the mangroves before
I had a chance to scan them with the scope so it could have been in with
them.

No sighting of the Terrick Sandpipers near the Little Cormorant roost on the
Mangrove rd.
