Birding-Aussies
My brother told me this morning that he has seen 2
groups of Inland Dotterels, about a dozen in each, in his front paddock
(9000ac!) near Bourke, NSW. More than the usual resident group of 6 or so. What
made them obvious was that they were easily seen in the daylight when they are
rarely observed. Mixed in with them was about 10 or so Aust Pratincoles; a first
for his property.
The more unusual sighting for him was a very
"yellow looking Ringneck". Still had the red over the top of the beak,
but not green, just basically a yellow version.
Is this known as leucistic, and how rare in
the wild?
