MessageHi Sally and Roger, When the flying ants appear in our front yard here in northern Victoria, (usually in spring after a good rain), the House Sparrows do exactly the same as the finches you observed; sallying in the air like flycatchers. This last event we had Starlings alongside them plus Singing Honeyeaters, Willie Wagtails and a number of our resident Peacocks. Cheers, Simon Starr. |
