Hi,

Just wanted to make comment on two off-topic threads.  The dolphin in Lake Macquarie would be a Bottlenose Dolphin not a Common Dolphin.  Common Dolphins are not usually found in estuaries or adjacent to the coast.  You pick them up as you travel away from the coast.

The Wollomi Pine is extremely rare and important but to send it all over the world or even throughout Australia has its ecological dangers.  In other countries (and states and regions in Australia) it is an exotic (introduced) species with all of the problems that introduced species bring to natural ecosystems.  Breeding up a population as a safeguard to its extinction in the wild is a great idea but it should remain relatively close to where it occurs naturally or in the Botanic Gardens.  I don't agree with flogging it off to gardeners so that they can add another exotic species to their gardens athough I do understand the financial benefits of doing so.

Regards

Greg
