My guess is they are all in south western NSW. I was out at Cocoparra NP
near Griffith again today and there are still multitudes of WW Trillers,
Rufous Songlarks, WB and Masked Woodswallows, lots of Budgerigars and still
Crimson Chats. Things are breeding all over the place while the going is
good.

Subject: [BIRDING-AUS] Spring visitors -Mount Lofty Ranges, SA
Date: Thu, 27 Oct 2005 05:12:55 +0000
Hello everyone,
Was just wondering whether anyone -particularly those watchers here in SA-
has had the same experience as I in the Mount Lofty Ranges. Despite birds
like peaceful doves turning up reasonably early for the spring season,
there appears to be a real paucity of bee-eaters and white-winged trillers.
During the 90 or so surveys I have conducted throughout the ranges in the
past two months I have not come across a single individual of each.
Normally, the odd bird would have turned up by now. Has anyone esle had the
same experience.
During one visit to a farming property near Ashbourne, southern MLRs, I
came across a party of four southern whiteface. Although I have come across
them before here, it has only ever been one the one occasion and that was
during the drier months. It was slightly unusal in that if one was going to
come across them then it might normally be expected to be a little later in
the year, when inland areas begin to dry out.
Regards,
Michael Wood
