I'm getting fantastic replies to this query. The first came from Canada, and others are coming from American & UK residents past or present. I'll post the most popular titles when all replies are in, I guess? Please keep that advice coming. It would've been too easy to buy the wrong thing!
Judith.

I've been noticing lately just how many birds appear on UK & US TV shows. Would Roger Tory Petersen's guide books to the north American birds be the best armchair books for birding American TV?... And what's the best UK field guide?

Thanks.
Judith.
