Hi all,At Nielsen Park/Beach this morning I had a surprisingly close encounter with a male Koel. I managed to get to within about 8 metres of him (at eye level, seeing as I was on a raised footpath) while he was still calling. Every other Koel I've ever seen/heard in my area (Bronte) has always stopped calling whenever I get within 50 metres of its tree, or sometimes even whenever I step outside the front door! They seem very shy normally, so I was surprised that this one kept calling while hopping from branch to branch TOWARDS me. I got a really nice look at him but it's a pity I didn't have my camera. cheers, Suzi -------------------------------------------- Birding-Aus is now on the Web at www.birding-aus.org -------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send the message 'unsubscribe birding-aus' (no quotes, no Subject line) to |
