I too use AVG and on my work email (which I access via Thunderbird and
POP) I get these attachments on nearly every incoming mail - for some
reason not all of them. For personal mail (on Gmail or Hotmail) I get
none as AVG only scans mail coming in via POP as far as I know.

Curiously, these attachments only began very recently - but they are definitely not harmful.
