Denise Goodfellow sends this press press release for the NT News and government:

In October, 2004 Peterson Nganjmirra and other custodians of Baby Dreaming
(Gudjekbinj), western Arnhem Land, and other leaders of Mamadewerrie and
Gumadeer decided to set aside a large billabong near the Gumadeer River for
birdwatching.

This decision was made after the custodians had participated in birdwatching
workshops funded by the Northern Territory Government and run by Denise
Lawungkurr Goodfellow.

Their dedication to such a cause was demonstrated in mid-2005 when young men went hunting on surrounding billabongs for waterfowl. Despite finding none
they left the bird billabong inviolate.

They showed the billabong to a group of visitors, from Gondwana Dreaming,
Manning Clark House and the Australian Museum Society. Thousands of
waterfowl were present.
