Dear Shirley
Mike and Tony are correct - you are unlikely to get an attachment via
Birding-Aus. There are all sorts of filters to block them, and the
actual message size is limited to 18Kb. Occasionally some signature
files are included as a type of attachment - they are very small and
get through. It's more likely that what you are seeing is forged
messages. These may come from somebody else in your address book -
or from somebody else on birding-aus who sends you messages
privately. If Person X has a worm virus infecting their computer,
it's possible for it to send forged messages without them knowing
about it. The TO and FROM address is likely to come from their
address book, inbox, or any old email they have saved!
My simple advice - if you get a message containing ANY attachment,
and you are not completely sure of its origin and purpose, DELETE IT
immediately - don't even check it.
Cheers
Russell

Dear all,
The majority of messages that I am receiving from Birding-Aus have
attachments that I am convinced should not be there. Needless to
say, I am not opening them. Is anyone else experiencing this?
