It is a great year for the SWANS!
There are still many swans on nests and so many pairs swimming around guiding the cygnets about.
It was  Plant at its best yesterday, bright sunshine and no wind.  There were numerous very vocal Cisticolas, waders returning: one Black-tailed godwit on the Borrow Pit, still 6 Bar-tailed godwit on Walsh's Lagoon, Ruddy Turnstones at Kirk's Point with massed roosting of Red-necked Stints, an increasing number of Sharp-tailed Sandpipers.  Glimpsed a couple of Spotted Crake on the Spit and near the Borrow Pit.
Ducks galore but still no Freckled Duck, they seem to have found a better pond!
Scrubwren and Calamanthus showing themselves, a few Blue-winged parrots but no OBP's. Spoonbill, Egret, cormorants in the 1000's and skeins of Ibis in the sky.

We have just returned from an excellent trip to Julatten and Port Douglas, one highlight was our trip to Mount Carbine with Del Richards.
