Certainly a few Sacred Kingfishers spend the winter in mangroves along
the east coast of NSW. I have seen them in mangroves in the northern
part of the Royal NP in Sydney, Stockton at Newcastle etc

Hi David
A few years ago during the Birds Australia Sydney Olympic Games
(Homebush Bay) Birds Project, we used to always record Sacred
Kingfishers all year around at that site, along Haslam's Creek as well
as in the Newington Nature Reserve.
Cheers
