Thanks for the info. Chris, the rumours I had heard (from people with an active interest in Newhaven, no names) varied from selling half of it to getting a group such as Bush Heritage involved. Your info at least confirms a certain course of action. Provided the reserve is managed well with the original intent of conserving the habitat, then we should perhaps welcome this.

Hi all, From the Birds Australia Southern Queensland minutes to the April 17th 2005 meeting:"BA Council has decided to divest the management of Newhaven." Minutes available at:http://www.users.bigpond.com/basqld/minutes/minutes050417.htm Don't know the latest on this, but it comes as no surprise given BA's difficulties with funding the reserve. Regards,ChrisBroome, WA On 9/7/05, Val Ford <> wrote:
Hi John Enjoyed your report.  I went to  Newhaven in 2003 and 2004 - the first a birding trip and the second for the walking.  A truly fantastic place. However, like Alastair I am also intrigued by "rumours about Birds Australia distancing itself from the property".  What's going on? RegardsVal
