Apologies if I'm repeating myself. Beaudesert Shire Council (south of Brisbane) has a Superb Lyrebird standing on a pumpkin for its logo. No Superb Lyrebirds in the Shire; only Albert's. I pointed this out and the reply was that there are lyrebirds in the Shire and what the logo illustrates is what the public recognises as a lyrebird. BTW, Eastern Spinebills sometimes hover in front of flowers to drink the nectar. Right shape for a hummingbird? Bit large though. Cheers. Syd
Isn't that idiotic. But no worse than that the National Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation used a Bald Eagle in their EMBLEM. I am not sure if they have fixed this after I complained to them about this, five years ago. |
