Hi Birders,I remember in the late 1960s that John Disney, then Curator of Birds at the Australian Museum, collected a number of BFCS during some winter banding operations to show that by measurement and plumage, some of the birds in the Sydney area, were from Tasmania. While BFCS are common throughout the year on the Central Coast, in winter there a number of flocks of from 12-26 birds that seem to locate in the same area every day and I have often speculated as whether these birds were part of the Tasmanian population.
