Beautiful day today - although I saw less species than I normally do,

Highlight would have to be the two Orange-bellied Parrots seen in a
low bush on the north side of Little River, not far from the sea. On
the same road (and foraging in the central grass) but closer to the
ford were 6 to 8 Blue-winged Parrots, and I saw another 3 Blue-wings
at the Spit in the afternoon.

There were 4 Glossy Ibis at Paradise Rd and a few Sharpies in Walsh's
lagoon. The Spit also yielded a Baillon's Crake.

Low point was the discovery (by Gavin Jackson) of a dead Barn owl
(must have dies in the night, no obvious cause) on Paradise Rd near
Chirnside Rd - probably the one Shirley Cameron reported a week or so
back.
