Is this unusual?? Thursday 21st July at 'Gooding's Corner' a big roundabout
on the intersection of Gooding Drive and Robina Parkway, Carrara, Gold
Coast, Queensland, I saw at least 50 Magpie Geese (probably many more than
50) paddling and splashing in the many pools of water left by the recent
heavy rains in this area. There were also some foraging in the dryish
looking grass among some cattle. I was so surprised at the sight that we
were past the area before I could do an approximate count and didn't have
the time to do a quick turn around to go back. Maybe it's not an unusual
sight; I'm not really familiar with the birds in this region but thought it
worth a mention on Birding-Aus.
