Hello all,
A quick question re the colour of the feet of Little Egret subspecies.
The difference between garzetta and nigripes is quite obvious in Mike
Carter's photos, with the entire foot of garzetta being yellow.
I remember seeing (and I think photographing) a Little Egret at Wyndham,
NT in 1999 with yellow soles to the feet. Nowhere near as much yellow as
in Mike's photos. At the time I thought it was interesting but then I
forgot all about it. Does nigripes ever have any yellow in the feet?
Quite possibly I haven't looked at the feet of Little Egrets closely
enough before, so you'll have to forgive me if it is an ignorant question!
Cheers,
Mick
