Dear birders,
 
Shackleton (Sir E.), in "South" , writes of White-rumped Terns.
 
Aleutian Tern Sterna aleutica, are white-rumped in name, but surely not in those South Atlantic/Antarctic waters?! So, does he mean Antarctic or Kerguelen Terns??
 
Incidentally, he of course uses old names, such as Whale-birds (Prions) and Nellies (Giant Petrels).
