Hi everyone
Please be careful of any emails that ask you to follow links,
particularly those that ask you to login or sign on with secure
details when you get to the site. These are usually fraudulent
messages and sites which will attempt to record your password or
other information, add your email address to a spam list, or worse
still, install spyware on your computer.
The latest version claims to have details about a Michael Jackson
suicide attempt - if you follow the link it will take you to a site
which claims it is busy. While you are waiting to "load" the page,
small programs will be installed on your computer. Of course, any
decent firewall will set off its alarms before any damage can be
done, but I thought it was worth informing all members about this
latest scam. The timing of this email follows a trend in which
authors of viruses are increasingly using current events to try to
trick people.
If you want to know more, type "Michael Jackson trojan" into your
favourite search engine and follow the links you trust.
Be careful out there!
