A bit of hasty colloquialism here- as a lister has pointed out. The name Bald Coot was a common name from many years ago (not sure how widely used) for the Eurasian Coot and I had meant to add Dusky Moorhen to the list. ........... At the old Abernethy Colliery dam Sunday pm (near Cessnock) there were about 100 Hardheads, and many Bald Coots, Eurasian Coots, Purple Swamp Hen, Black Duck, Australasian Grebe.
