In 1978 there were several bulbuls in the area. A pair nested in the creeper
over the side door. The currawongs waited until the young were bite size and
then ate the whole clutch. I think they also cleaned up the house sparrows
and influenced the spotted doves. I believe the Noisy Miners have driven the
common miners away but they may have been helped by the new garbage bins
which reduced spillage.
