Late this afternoon I saw four Swift Parrots in River Oak on the Capertee River (north-western edge of the Blue Mountains). They were not feeding, just fluttering from limb to limb and preening although most mistletoe Amyema cambagei were carrying a few flowers that may have attracted the birds to the area. They were silent until they flew off down the river making their harsh chattering calls.
