Fellow Finch Fanatics,

I've had to wipe the drool from my chin several times now hearing all about these large flocks of finches, 1000+ Painted Firetails must be an awesome sight. The largest flocks of seen, remembering I've never been up north, would be 110+ Plum-headed Finches in the Capertee Valley, 30+ Diamond Firetail at Little Hartley and Barraba, and 100's of Double-bars at Narrabri and Jerry's Plains. But remember size isn't everything, seeing 3 Beautiful Firetail in the Blue Mountains was just as spectacular.
