Canberra Ornithologists Group has produced an ABN
for every year since at least the late 1960s as an issue of CBN.
Here is a schedule of the refs for the 21 years
that coincided with my book on COG's Garden Bird Survey over those
years, although this bit mainly refers to the GBS component of the ABR with
statistics about it (deleted here as it is too difficult to format all that
stuff out again). This is Appendix 7 of the book Sorry the table has lost its
formatting! :
Appendix 7. Reference list of COG Annual Bird
Reports (ABR).
COG has produced ABR since the late 1960s. This list only includes those that have appeared since the beginning of the GBS. In some cases an entry in this report, like a species noted at a particular site on a certain year will also be mentioned in the relevant ABR. The reader would need to refer to Appendix 3 to interpret the site number to a name and suburb. The ABR contain details of most of the rarer species listed in Appendix 1 and additional data. The COG ABR are not referred to individually in this report. The authorship of the ABR, always a group effort, has varied over the years, so they are listed here in brief form as a chronological set, with the volume number and pages in Canberra Bird Notes (CBN) as the reference and the release date. This also indicates, where available, the number of species then stated to have been recorded in the GBS (although note that waterbirds were not included in the early years), also sites and observer-weeks included in the analysis at that time. These can be compared to the updated information in Table 1. (NYA = Not yet available, NG = Not Given in ABR, Supp = Supplement.) Year GBS year CBN
