Hi All,
Just an update for those interested in oddities.
I first reported a white Magpie here in Violet Town in Jan 03 and followed up
with a couple of progress reports. That bird continued to be easily found (
nearly every time we looked) at the same area in Long Gully Rd for some time,
then less often and finally only occasionally, being last seen by me and others
in May 04. During that time it gradually changed from being all white through
white with dark smudges to speckled fairly uniform black and white (looked grey
without bins) and then 'grey' with black primaries at last sighting on May 16.
On Mar 6 05 I saw a white Magpie, which I assume was not the original because
it was very white. This one has only been seen once more, on 27 Mar, in spite
of my fairly regular (almost daily when we are home) checking of the area.
