Hi folksI've been watching great swarms of Red-rumped Parrots in my local park (Alphington Park, inner east Melbourne near the Yarra River) mowing through seeds of Blanket Weed (Galenia pubescens) over recent days - sideline to walking the baby. The highest count was last night with a loose flock of about 80 RRPs along with 12 Crested Pigeons and the odd Eastern Rosella. Not bad for an urban park ... and probably the biggest RRP flock I've ever seen.
