Some information for the list.

The issue of inappropriate fire regimes has been formally recognised as a threatening process in Victoria under the Flora and Fauna Guarantee Act as follows:

'Inappropriate fire regimes causing disruption to sustainable ecosystem processes and resultant loss of biodiversity'. (nomination no. 664)

This is defined as fires occurring at intervals, intensities, seasons and scales that lie outside the ecological or physiological tolerances of the resident biota.  Such tolerances are set by each species' life history characteristics.

The brief Scientific Advisory Committee Final Recommendation Report on this item is available from me as a pdf document upon request to interested parties.
Feel free to contact me directly for a copy.
