Hi Wim, Your evocative message about Kapiti Island contained a typo, and an incorrect statement. The Terns feeding in between Kapiti and the mainland would be White-fronted, not Black-fronted Terns, and, contrary to what you were told, the Whitehead is doing really very well on the mainland - one of the few endemic species that have made a successful transition from native bush to pine forest.
