Hi All,

I just returned from 5 days of excellent birding in some if the mallee parks along the SA/VIC border, reaching as far north as Gluepot, and south to Little Desert.

Thanks to all that assisted me with RFI's.

Some highlights below:

Little Desert:  Malleefowl [Roadside of Kiata Rd], Purple Gaped HE [Trig Point], Red Capped Robin

Wyperfeld - Striped HE, Major Mitchells Cockatoo, Wedge Tailed Eagle.

Murray Sunset - Pheeny's Trk:  We found an excellent site about 2km east past the intersection of pheeny's and south bore tracks. It was an area rejuvenating after being burnt out, probably about 2-3 years ago. The low undergrowth provided habitat for the following species all found in a 100m square section:  Purple-Gaped HE (attending young), Straited Grasswren, Shy heathwren, Variegated Fairy Wren, Splendid Fairy Wren, Mallee Emuwren, Crested Bellbird.

Gluepot - Malleefowl walk:  Red lored whistler, Gilberts Whistler, White Fronted HE, Mixed Myna's,

Gluepot - Track 8 and 9 intersection - Crested Bellbird, Chestnut Quail Thrush, Southern Scrub Robin, Striated Grasswren, possible Black Eared Cuckoo.

Gluepot was well worth the drive! great place.

Cheers,

Peter
