I used Birds of the Middle East and North Africa by Hollom, Porter for the
UAE and found it very good. It covers Qatar as well. The authors also
refer to A BIRDWATCHERS GUIDE TO QATAR by C and J Oldfield published by the
Oldfields in 1994, but I've no idea where to get this and whether or not it
is still in print. on the web you can look at the Qatar section on
http://www.fatbirder.com and
http://www.birdlifemed.org/Contries/qatar/qatar.html
