G'day Michael Would you please supply me with more details about the location of the Mynah at Casterton? I'll talk to our "pest plants and animals" folk here at DPI/DSE Hamilton. I've lived in Hamilton for 23 years and haven't seen any Mynahs in sw Victoria. The closest I see them is along the freeway between Bacchus March and Ballarat. I think there has been the odd bird in Ballarat and Warrnambool. One was shot in Portland in 1974. I don't know their status in se SA. Last weekend I saw a Spotted Turtle-Dove in dunes east of Port MacDonnell (SA) and there have been occasional reports along the Victorian west coast as far east as Portland in recent years. Another species we don't want, especially as the Crested Pigeon is becoming establishing a toehold in a few sw Vic localities.
