I've been delighted to observe an immature Oriole over the past couple of days , as it fed on grubs or caterpillars in my Casuarina tree. We have moved to this suburban garden in Patterson Lakes, about 35kms SE of Melbourne, so it's a great spotting for us. Is it likely that it is starting its migration north, or would they normally be around here. There is no substantial bushland close by but scattered gums .
