G'day birding Ausers I do not know about koels but I saw and heard my first Channel-billed Cuckoos crossing our campus (20 km NE of Port Moresby) on their way North on Thursday and Saturday last. The Sharp-tailed Sandpipers and most of the Pacific Golden Plovers that were on campus have also headed north - a bit early this year.
