Being
relatively new to birding and from NSW, I am not too familiar to the birds of
Victoria.
I have
however been interested to read about the records of Chesnut-breated Mannikins
around Melbourne. I am I wrong in perceiving that all the records for
Chestnut-breasted Mannikins were from around the 70's and 80's, or are these
birds still being recorded in Victoria?
I saw
a number of Chestnut-breasted Mannikins feeding on seeds of weedy annuals on the
Western headland of Port Campbell on roughly the 4th February
2004.
