Two more likely spots:
Kirk Point - on the sand near the boat launching ramp - there are no
locked gates but it is a permit-only area, and adjoins the off-limits
Murtcaim area. Not sure of the real status of the track in from Beach
Road, as members of the public use it to get to the boat-launching
area. I believe it's also a place popular with those who take more
than the allowed amounts of shellfish. I would think it gets watched
regularly by Fisheries people - or at least I hope so.
Point Disappointment is a popular spot for surfers - it's next to
Breamlea. The river mouth is a place I've seen Sanderlings on a few
occasions. Road access from Blackgate Road.
Good luck

Hi all,
Was wondering if anyone had any hot spots for Sanderlings near
Melbourne? I've looked through quite a few previous posts and noticed
Stony Point on WesternPort bay and Little River mouth near Werribee as
good places. Just wanted to check if anyone has seen any large numbers
recently or if someone knows the best tide to go to these places. I'm
considering an outing this weekend if anyone would like to join in.
Cheers
