You might be interested in a few sightings that
have been reported to the NSW birdline that
haven't made it to these pages.
A Yellow Wagtail in breeding plumage was reported
from Stannix Park, Wilberforce, in north-western
Sydney, seen on 5th February, about 100 metres
south of the bridge over the creek. I've not
heard anything about it since.
On 9th February, 11 Fork-tailed Swifts passed
Mistral Point, Maroubra out to sea, flying north.
Also on that day there was yet another Streaked
Shearwater. This is the ninth record so far this
year, involving 28 individuals. I'm also aware of
perhaps another five records that have not been
officially reported. Streaked Shearwaters don't
normally peak off NSW until late February, so
this is almost certainly an unprecedented year
for Streakeds off NSW (Alan Morris might confirm
this).
